My journalism career has been built on a foundation of storytelling, accuracy, and a commitment to delivering engaging content across multiple platforms. At the University of Wisconsin-Madison, I’ve had the privilege of contributing to a range of publications, including The Daily Cardinal, where I served as a Sports Editor and previously as a Politics Reporter and Features Reporter. Over my tenure, I wrote more than 90 articles, covering everything from in-depth political analyses to human-interest features and extensive sports coverage, with a focus on accuracy, timeliness, and compelling storytelling.

As Sports Editor, I led a team of writers, assigning and editing articles while ensuring that our coverage adhered to editorial guidelines. I covered men’s hockey in my final year, honing my ability to capture the energy and drama of live events, while also managing multimedia elements to complement the written content. This experience sharpened my skills in using platforms like Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and social media to engage our audience and enrich our sports reporting.

My political reporting experience expanded my journalistic expertise, particularly in navigating complex political landscapes and distilling information into accessible, engaging narratives. As a Politics Reporter, I closely followed local and state politics, producing articles that balanced depth with clarity for a broad audience. This role allowed me to develop an analytical approach to writing while emphasizing the importance of thorough research and source verification.

Throughout my career, I’ve consistently embraced multimedia storytelling, incorporating photography, videography, and interactive graphics into my work to create rich, dynamic content. Whether covering a political event or a sports competition, my goal is always to bring readers into the heart of the story, enhancing the narrative with compelling visuals and dynamic digital tools.

In addition to my work at The Daily Cardinal, I’ve gained valuable experience as a Political Intern with the Democratic Party of Wisconsin, where I worked alongside legislators and advocacy groups to support communication strategies for political campaigns and policy initiatives. This role further strengthened my ability to write clear, persuasive messaging for diverse audiences and develop strategies for effective engagement.
